As Founder and President of Bob Sabin Consulting, I provide strategic and hands-on consulting across formulation, global product development, product claims, scale-up, processing, and regulatory affairs for cosmetics, OTC drugs, personal cleansing, skin and hair care, laundry detergents, and household cleaners.
Throughout my career, I have led innovation from early concept through commercialization, partnering closely with marketing, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to deliver products that meet consumer needs, comply with global regulations, and succeed in the marketplace. My work has contributed to numerous high-profile launches and line extensions for brands including Bioré, Caress, Vagisil, Herbal Essences, Tide, Dreft and Febreze, among others. These efforts have resulted in improved product performance, differentiated claims, cost savings, and meaningful business growth.
I have held senior leadership roles in R&D and Regulatory Affairs at companies such as Unilever, Kao USA, Clairol, Combe Incorporated, and Nehemiah Manufacturing, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and complex development portfolios. My expertise spans formulation science, claims substantiation, clinical and efficacy testing, process development, and regulatory compliance across the U.S., Canada, and other global markets.
I am an inventor or co-inventor on multiple U.S. patents, a published author in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and a contributor to technical conferences. I hold a Master of Science in Food Science from Rutgers University. I bring a science-driven, pragmatic approach to problem solving, with a focus on delivering innovative, compliant, and commercially viable products that create real value for both companies and consumers.
